Amoeba Music Website Redesign

After looking up the website of iconic record store and one of my favorite places to browse, Amoeba Music, I decided to attempt a quick redesign of its website's landing page. Currently, amoeba.com appears as though it may not have been updated since the early 2000s. While a nod to an earlier era would be on-brand for Amoeba, I suppose, given the products it carries, I felt that the site could be redesigned in a way that incorporated retro visual styles while featuring more modern, cleaner web layout sensibilities.

Just for fun, I came up with a welcome page that would greet visitors to the site with the Amoeba logo and an "ENTER" button to click on in order to access the site. The extra step serves to subtly mimic the act of opening a door and walking through in order to enter a brick-and-mortar record shop.
After clicking to enter the site, the following landing page awaits. The Amoeba logo begins at the top and center of the page, flanked by the items in the navigation bar. Musical works are highlighted on the front page in three different categories, each offering to present more records belonging in the category at the click of an "EXPLORE MORE" button.
The idea is that the Amoeba logo does not remain static but rather remains in sight, growing in size and fading into the background as the viewer scrolls down the landing page.
